Shin Yeh - 欣葉

No. 34-1,Shuangcheng St., Jhongshan District, Taipei City 104, Taiwan
Famous Taiwanese restaurant started from a small shop in Taipei’s back alleyway to the business district. This restaurant is a must try for anyone who visits Taiwan. Their dishes consist of the traditional Taiwanese cuisine as well as new innovative dishes. I love their slogan which is “Emotion, Love, and Taste”.

Our first dish is Taiwanese style spring roll (潤餅). This dish has a pretty long history. I have never tasted anything like this in the States. The spring roll consisted of roasted pork and other goodies as well roasted peanut powder which gives it a dessert taste.

Our second dish is the famous Pork-Belly Bun(刮包) which is kinda similar what Momofuku restaurant serves in New York. It’s also sometime refer to as “Tiger Bites Pig”. This is also one of those dish you must have if you visit Taiwan.

Our third dish is season liver, I am not sure what exactly is the right translation. Initially I was not fond of this dish because it’s liver, eww. But this dish didn’t bitter at all and it was really seasoned well.

Our fourth dish is kidney which I could not get uses to. I know being Chinese and all I should be able to handle all the nasty stuff. You are welcome to try if you dare.

I would definitely recommend Shin Yeh if you crave Taiwanese Food and you are too afraid to eat in the food market. Shin Yeh is some place that you can enjoy all of those Taiwanese cuisines without the fear of ending up in the hospital the next day.
